Semi Independent Living

At Crown Supported Living Spaces, we offer a comprehensive range of services designed to support and empower young people aged 16 to 17+ in their journey towards independent living. Our services include providing safe and comfortable accommodation, daily living support with household tasks and meal preparation, guidance in making informed life decisions, and the development of essential life skills. Our approach is centred around creating a nurturing environment that fosters responsibility, self-reliance, and personal growth, ensuring each young person is well-prepared for their future.

We aim to provide

1

FOUNDATIONAL SUPPORT AND SAFETY

Our primary focus is on addressing both the basic and unique needs of each young person. This includes providing support to help them to lead a healthy life, provide them comfortable and secure
accommodation, support them in education and training, empowering their independence and unwavering emotional
support.

The safety and well-being of our young people are of utmost importance. We employ rigorous supervision and monitoring measures, aimed at safeguarding them from any harm and ensuring a secure living

environment.

2

SUPPORTIVE AND INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT

We are dedicated to creating a homely, family-like atmosphere that fosters a sense of belonging. A warm and welcoming environment is vital for the emotional and psychological well-being of our young
people, helping them feel valued and integrated within the community.

Fostering Positive Relationships: A key aspect of our ethos is the cultivation of positive, trusting relationships between our
young people and staff.

3

ENCOURAGING DEVELOPMENT AND INDEPENDENCE

Recognising the importance of holistic growth, we offer diverse activities and
experiences that cater to the interests and talents of our young people. These range from outdoor pursuits and sports to
artistic and educational opportunities, all designed to stimulate social, emotional, and psychological development.

We actively work to maintain and strengthen family connections, fostering communication and engagement. We focus on developing skills in personal growth, social confidence, and vocational education,
ensuring each individual is well-prepared for their future.

Comfort and Location

Each young person is provided with a lockable, well-furnished bedroom designed to foster comfort, security, and personal space. Rooms are equipped with internet connectivity, reading table, wardrobe, lockable cabinets for valuables. Bedding, towels, hygiene products, and essential kitchen equipment are also supplied. These features empower young people to take pride in their living space and begin developing life skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Our homes are situated in vibrant communities with easy access to essential services, including doctor’s surgeries, chemists, libraries, superstores, newsagents, post offices, and places of worship. Public transport links ensure our young people can navigate their local area easily. Additionally, the proximity to a wide range of educational facilities—including schools and alternative education settings—supports the diverse learning needs of young people, particularly those with additional needs.

Safety and Support

Crown prioritizes the health, safety, and privacy of residents. CCTV is installed in communal areas to enhance security without being intrusive on privacy. All furniture and facilities are regularly inspected, and the homes are fully compliant with health, safety, and fire regulations, supported by comprehensive insurance.

Staff provide 24/7 support, with daytime and sleep-in/waking night staff stationed in designated office spaces within each property. Key workers, trained in trauma-informed practice, work closely with each young person, guiding them through their pathway plans and helping them build resilience and independence.
